Yokohama Type Floating Rubber Fender Ship Protection With High Air Tightness
Floating Rubber Fender
Floating rubber fenders are widely used for ship-to-ship transfer, double banking, and ship-to-dock berths. They are preferably used in ports where the tides vary greatly. Jerryborg's floating rubber fenders can be easily deflated, enabling simple and cost-effective relocation, providing protection in dock and ship-to-ship mooring scenarios. We offer products in various sizes, and they can also be fitted with tires or chain nets to provide additional protection.
Fully compliant with the ISO17357 standard, Jerryborg’s floating rubber fender supplies with a variety of specifications and dimensions to meet customer’s requests and different application conditions.
Floating Rubber Fender Advantage
1. Absorb more energy and reduce the adverse impact on the ship
2. Adapt to the tide.
3. Safely overload.
4. Lightweight and easy to install.
5. Easy to maintain.
6. Long service life.
7. Different sizes can be customized upon customer's requirements.
Floating Rubber Fender Classification
Floating rubber fenders are produced with two initial pressure ratings, which are pneumatic 50 (P50, initial internal pressure 50kPa) and pneumatic 80 (P80, initial internal pressure 80kPa).
Floating rubber fenders are mainly classified into three types as follows:
1. Floating rubber fender with chain and tire net
With chain and tire net covering the fender body, the floating rubber fender can reduce the damage of friction and abrasion caused by direct contact. Therefore it’s widely used in places with complicated and unstable tide variation, such as ship-to-ship(STS) and ship-to-dock(STD) operations. In addition, as for the protective tire, Jerryborg offers four types of tires with different sizes and thicknesses for customers to choose from.
2.Sling type floating rubber fender
Sling type floating rubber fender will be connected with a guy chain or guy rope with a lifting device on both ends.
3. Hydro pneumatic type floating rubber fender
Hydropneumatic floating rubber fender is usually used as a bumper with submarines and other semi-submersible platforms. It can be installed vertically in the water cause it’s filled with air and water inside and equipped with a counterweight.
All these floating rubber fenders mentioned above are available usually in black, the color is also customized upon your request. Jerryborg offers floating rubber fenders with various sizes in diameter ranging from 500mm to 4500mm, length ranging from 1000mm to 9000mm.

Floating Rubber Fender Structure
The floating rubber fender is composed of three vulcanized layers, each of which provides an important function in the structure and service life of the fender. The three layers are (1) the inner rubber layer, (2)the reinforced cord layer (3) the outer rubber layer.
The outer rubber layer uses special compounds that provide additional tensile strength and tear strength to protect the fender from severe weather conditions and frequent use, while the inner rubber layer is specially designed to seal the internal air and prevent any leakage, just like the inner tube of a tire. The reinforced layer is a composite tire cord with cross shadow lines, which is designed to distribute stress evenly.
Floating Rubber Fender Application
1. Ship-to-ship transfer operations
2. Ship-to-ship services
3. Offshore platform defense
4. Ship berthing at the dock
5. Hang on the ship hull
