Yokohama Fender Pneumatic Inflatable Rubber Fenders With Chain And Tyre
Yokohama Fender
Yokohama fenders are widely used for ship-to-ship transfer, double banking, and ship-to-dock berths. They are preferably used in ports where the tides vary greatly. Jerryborg's Yokohama fenders can be easily deflated, enabling simple and cost-effective relocation, providing protection in the dock and ship-to-ship mooring scenarios. We offer products in various sizes, and they can also be fitted with tires or chain nets to provide additional protection.
Yokohama fender is marine equipment used to prevent ships, ships, and other naval vessels from colliding with each other or crashing into docks, wharves, and piers. In other words, Yokohama fenders can be simply called marine bumpers.
Yokohama Fender Advantage
1. Light weight, high compression deformation, low reaction strength, and high energy absorption.
2. Good floating performance, can meet the needs of water level changes.
3. Using compressed air as the medium, the energy consumption of the collision may not be compressed air.
4. Easy to install and long service life
Yokohama Fender Classification
Yokohama fenders are produced with two initial pressure ratings, which are pneumatic 50 (P50, initial internal pressure 50kPa) and pneumatic 80 (P80, initial internal pressure 80kPa).
Yokohama fenders are mainly classified into three types as follows:
1. Yokohama Fender with Chain and Tyre Net
With chain and tire net covering the fender body, the Yokohama fender can reduce the damage of friction and abrasion caused by direct contact. Therefore it’s widely used in places with complicated and unstable tide variations, such as ship-to-ship(STS) and ship-to-dock(STD) operations. In addition, as for the protective tire, Jerryborg offers four types of tires with different sizes and thicknesses for customers to choose from.
2. Sling Type Yokohama Fender
Sling type Yokohama fender will be connected with a guy chain or guy rope with a lifting device on both ends.
3. Hydro Pneumatic Type Yokohama Fender
Hydropneumatic Yokohama fender is usually used as a bumper with submarines and other semi-submersible platforms. It can be installed vertically in the water cause it’s filled with air and water inside and equipped with a counterweight.
All these Yokohama fenders mentioned above are available usually in black, the color is also customized upon your request. Jerryborg offers Yokohama fenders with various sizes in diameter ranging from 500mm to 4500mm, length ranging from 1000mm to 9000mm.
4. Other Types
Yokohama Fender Structure
Yokohama fender is composed of three vulcanized layers, each of which provides an important function in the structure and service life of the fender. The three layers are (1) the inner rubber layer, (2)the reinforced cord layer (3) the outer rubber layer.
The outer rubber layer uses special compounds that provide additional tensile strength and tear strength to protect the fender from severe weather conditions and frequent use, while the inner rubber layer is specially designed to seal the internal air and prevent any leakage, just like the inner tube of a tire. The reinforced layer is a composite tire cord with cross shadow lines, which is designed to distribute stress evenly.
