Yokohama Inflatable Rubber Fender For Ship Docking And Mooring Made In China
Yokohama Inflatable Rubber Fender
Yokohama inflatable rubber fender, also called Yokohama fender, has been used in port, harbor, and maritime operations for decades since it was developed in 1958. With the development of ship technology, this Yokohama inflatable rubber fender is used extensively in ship-to-ship transfer operations and ship mooring and berthing operations. It’s always regarded as a buffer to reduce shock in between due to its excellent performance of great elasticity and abrasion-resistance.
Yokohama inflatable rubber fenders are divided into three types, including sling type, hydro-pneumatic type, and chain and tire net type. Each type plays a critical role in protecting the safety of marine operations.
Fully compliant with the ISO17357 standard, Jerryborg’s Yokohama inflatable rubber fender supplies with a variety of specifications and dimensions to meet customer’s requests and different application conditions.
Yokohama Inflatable Rubber Fender Advantage
1. Shape Conformant at Inclined Compression
Yokohama inflatable rubber fender is made of reinforced cord layers of high elasticity and flexibility, which enable it to make it shape conformant at inclined compression during ship-to-ship operations. Compared with solid fender and foam fender, the Yokohama inflatable rubber fender is easier to distribute the load along the ship's body or berthing structure.
2. Relatively Low Economic Cost
With the advantage of compressive elasticity of air, the surface pressure of Yokohama inflatable rubber fenders is completely uniform, which is equal to the internal air pressure and makes it popular with LNG-ship terminals.
3. Safe and Reliable
Yokohama inflatable rubber fender is made of several strong cord layers to enable it to be pressure-resistant and puncture-resistant. The Yokohama inflatable rubber fender whose diameter is over 2.5m is equipped with a safety valve to release the air inside in case it’s overpressured. The diagram below shows the data variations at different percentage compressions.
Yokohama Inflatable Rubber Fender Structure
① Outer rubber layer
Yokohama inflatable rubber fenders are covered by the outer layer made of natural rubber. This rubber compound is strong enough to protect the inner layer and synthetic-cord layer from the damage of external forces and severe weather conditions due to its high elasticity and abrasion resistance.
② Synthetic-tire-cord layer
The Synthetic-tire-cord layer is made of synthetic-tire-cord fabrics, compared with synthetic canvas fabric and synthetic belt fabric, this reinforcement layer performs better in fatigue-resistance and pressure-holding.
③ Inner rubber layer
The inner layer is designed to seal the air inside the fender.
Yokohama Inflatable Rubber Fender Application
1. Ship-to-ship transfer operations
2. Ship-to-ship services
3. Offshore platform defense
4. Ship berthing at the dock
5. Hang on the ship hull
