Pneumatic Floating Fender
Pneumatic floating fender was developed in Japan in 1958. It should be manufactured according to ISO 17357. The standard defines the corresponding international standards for the materials and testing of these fenders. In most cases, the fender should be surrounded by tires and chains to provide additional protection. Pneumatic floating fender can also be reinforced with rubber ribs(Rib Fender) without tires and chain mesh (sling fender).
Pneumatic floating fender in accordance with ISO 17357 are available in a variety of sizes, with a maximum diameter of 4500 mm, and a length of 12000 mm.
Pneumatic Floating Fender Applications

1. Tankers, gas carriers, and bulk carriers;

Pneumatic Floating Fender Structure
① Outer rubber layer
China pneumatic floating fenders are covered by the outer layer made of natural rubber. This rubber compound is strong enough to protect the inner layer and synthetic-cord layer from the damage of external forces and severe weather conditions due to its high elasticity and abrasion resistance.
② Synthetic-tire-cord layer
The Synthetic-tire-cord layer is made of synthetic-tire-cord fabrics, compared with synthetic canvas fabric and synthetic belt fabric, this reinforcement layer performs better in fatigue-resistance and pressure-holding.
③ Inner rubber layer
The inner layer is designed to seal the air inside the fender.

Pneumatic Floating Fender Classification
1. Pneumatic Floating Fender with Chain and Tyre Net
With chain and tire net covering the fender body, the China pneumatic floating fender can reduce the damage of friction and abrasion caused by direct contact. Therefore it’s widely used in places with complicated and unstable tide variation, such as ship-to-ship(STS) and ship-to-dock(STD) operations. In addition, as for the protective tire, Jerryborg offers four types of tires with different sizes and thicknesses for customers to choose from.
2. Sling Type Pneumatic Floating Fender
Sling type pneumatic floating fender will be connected with a guy chain or guy rope with a lifting device on both ends.
3. Hydro Pneumatic Type Pneumatic Floating Fender
Hydropneumatic pneumatic floating fenderis usually used as a bumper with submarines and other semi-submersible platforms. It can be installed vertically in the water cause it’s filled with air and water inside and equipped with a counterweight. All these fenders mentioned above are available usually in black, the color is also customized upon your request.
