Marine Floating Rubber Fender Pneumatic Bumper Fenders Definition Made In China
Pneumatic Bumper
Pneumatic bumpers are widely used for ship-to-ship transfer, double banking, and ship-to-dock berths. They are preferably used in ports where the tides vary greatly. Jerryborg's pneumatic bumpers can be easily deflated, enabling simple and cost-effective relocation, providing protection in dock and ship-to-ship mooring scenarios. We offer products in various sizes, and they can also be fitted with tires or chain nets to provide additional protection.
Pneumatic bumper is marine equipment used to prevent ships, ships, and other naval vessels from colliding with each other or crashing into docks, wharves, and piers. In other words, pneumatic bumpers can be simply called marine bumpers.
Pneumatic Bumper Structure
① Outer rubber layer
Pneumatic bumpers are covered by the outer layer made of natural rubber. The outer rubber layer uses special compounds that provide additional tensile strength and tear strength to protect the fender from severe weather conditions and frequent use
② Synthetic-tire-cord layer
The Synthetic-tire-cord layer is made of synthetic-tire-cord fabrics, compared with synthetic canvas fabric and synthetic belt fabric, this reinforcement layer performs better in fatigue-resistance and pressure-holding.
③ Inner rubber layer
The inner layer is designed to seal the air inside the fender.
Pneumatic Bumper Application
1. STS sea transport.
2. Double banking and ships berthing at docks /jetty.
3. Oil and gas carriers.
4. Temporary and permanent installation.
5. Quick response and emergency.
6. Liquid cargo and naval defense ships.
Pneumatic Bumper Classification
Pneumatic bumpers are produced with two initial pressure ratings, which are pneumatic 50 (P50, initial internal pressure 50kPa) and pneumatic 80 (P80, initial internal pressure 80kPa).
Pneumatic bumpers are mainly classified into three types as follows:
1. Pneumatic Bumper with Chain and Tyre Net
With chain and tire net covering the fender body, the pneumatic bumper can reduce the damage of friction and abrasion caused by direct contact. Therefore it’s widely used in places with complicated and unstable tide variation, such as ship-to-ship(STS) and ship-to-dock(STD) operations. In addition, as for the protective tire, Jerryborg offers four types of tires with different sizes and thicknesses for customers to choose from.
2. Sling Type Pneumatic Bumper
Sling type pneumatic bumper will be connected with a guy chain or guy rope with a lifting device on both ends.
3. Hydro Pneumatic Type Bumper
The hydropneumatic bumper is usually used as a bumper with submarines and other semi-submersible platforms. It can be installed vertically in the water cause it’s filled with air and water inside and equipped with a counterweight.
All these pneumatic bumpers mentioned above are available usually in black, the color is also customized upon your request. Jerryborg offers pneumatic bumpers with various sizes in diameter ranging from 500mm to 4500mm, length ranging from 1000mm to 9000mm.
