Floating Yokohama Type Fender Marine Pneumatic Bumper
Marine Pneumatic Bumper Description
Marine pneumatic bumper is an ideal STS protection bumper that is strong enough to withstand the damage of hard usage, and it's widely applied to places, like STS dock and STD wharf. Marine pneumatic bumpers mainly consist of three types, including sling type, CTN, and hydropneumatic type. Each type is available in various dimensions.
According to the ISO17357 standard, Jerryborg is specializing in offering high-quality marine pneumatic bumpers.
Marine Pneumatic Bumper Features
1. Safe and Reliable
Marine pneumatic bumpers are composed of reinforced cord layers that can make them puncture-resistant and pressure-resistant. When the diameter of marine pneumatic bumper is over 2.5m, it'll be equipped with a safety valve in case it's overpressured. The diagram below shows the data variations at different percentage compressions.
2. Advantage Under Severe Weather Conditions
Under normal circumstances, the ship movement caused by high and long-period waves or strong wind will bring repeated compression and shearing forces on the fender and make it easier to be fatigue and damage. However marine pneumatic bumpers are strong enough to resist severe weather conditions, the reaction force increases slowly compared with solid fenders and won’t easily reach the maximum.
Marine Pneumatic Bumper Classification
Marine pneumatic fenders are produced with two initial pressure ratings, which are pneumatic 50 (P50, initial internal pressure 50kPa) and pneumatic 80 (P80, initial internal pressure 80kPa). Marine pneumatic fenders are mainly classified into three types as follows:
1. Marine pneumatic bumper with CTN
With chain and tire net covering the fender body, the marine pneumatic bumpers can reduce the damage of friction and abrasion caused by direct contact. Therefore it’s widely used in places with complicated and unstable tide variation, such as ship-to-ship(STS) and ship-to-dock(STD) operations. In addition, as for the protective tire, Jerryborg offers four types of tires with different sizes and thicknesses for customers to choose from.
2. Sling Type marine pneumatic bumper
Sling type pneumatic fenders will be connected with a guy chain or guy rope with a lifting device on both ends.
3. Hydropneumatic type bumper
Hydropneumatic type bumper is usually used as a bumper with submarines and other semi-submersible platforms. It can be installed vertically in the water cause it’s filled with air and water inside and equipped with a counterweight. All these marine pneumatic bumpers mentioned above are available usually in black, the color is also customized upon your request. Jerryborg offers marine pneumatic bumpers with various sizes in diameter ranging from 500mm to 4500mm, length ranging from 1000mm to 12000mm.
Marine Pneumatic Bumper Structure
① Outer rubber layer
Marine pneumatic bumpers are covered by the outer layer made of natural rubber. This rubber compound is strong enough to protect the inner layer and synthetic-cord layer from the damage of external forces and severe weather conditions due to its high elasticity and abrasion resistance.
② Synthetic-tire-cord layer
The Synthetic-tire-cord layer is made of synthetic-tire-cord fabrics, compared with synthetic canvas fabric and synthetic belt fabric, this reinforcement layer performs better in fatigue-resistance and pressure-holding.
③ Inner rubber layer
The inner layer is designed to seal the air inside the fender.
