ABS CCS Yokohama Fender for Boat High Strength Air Filled Buffer
What Is Yokohama Fender ?
The Yokohama fender was developed in 1958 in Japan. Progress in the development of such fenders is closely related to the progress and development of ship anti-colision technology and Rubber IndustryTechnology. Yokohama fender has to continuously cope with progressively larger oil tankers such as VLCC's, ULCC's, large gas carriers, bulk carriers and floating structures.
Air filled buffer are worldwide used for ship-to-ship (STS) transfer operations, terminals, and for all kinds of ships, large tankers, vessels, docks, harbor wharves and ocean platforms. Since its creation until today, more than millions of fenders have been supplied worldwide both for ship-to-ship and ship-to-dock (STD) operations serving our valuable customers. These fenders play a critical role in the safe operation of ship berthing and mooring.
Pneumatic ship fenders are mainly classified into three types as follows:
1. Pneumatic Ship Fender with Chain and Tyre Net
With chain and tire net covering the fender body, the pneumatic ship fender can reduce the damage of friction and abrasion caused by direct contact. Therefore it’s widely used in places with complicated and unstable tide variation, such as ship-to-ship(STS) and ship-to-dock(STD) operations. In addition, as for the protective tire, Jerryborg offers four types of tires with different sizes and thicknesses for customers to choose from.
2. Sling Type Pneumatic Ship Fender
Sling type pneumatic ship fender will be connected with a guy chain or guy rope with a lifting device on both ends.
3. Hydro Pneumatic Type Ship Fender
Hydropneumatic ship fender is usually used as a bumper with submarines and other semi-submersible platforms. It can be installed vertically in the water cause it’s filled with air and water inside and equipped with a counterweight.
All these pneumatic ship fenders mentioned above are available usually in black, the color is also customized upon your request. Jerryborg offers pneumatic ship fenders with various sizes in diameter ranging from 500mm to 4500mm, length ranging from 1000mm to 9000mm.
Air-tightness Floating Pneumatic Fender Structure
① Outer rubber layer
Air-tightness floating pneumatic fenders are covered by the outer layer made of natural rubber. This rubber compound is strong enough to protect the inner layer and synthetic-cord layer from the damage of external forces and severe weather conditions due to its high elasticity and abrasion resistance.
② Synthetic-tire-cord layer
The Synthetic-tire-cord layer is made of synthetic-tire-cord fabrics, compared with synthetic canvas fabric and synthetic belt fabric, this reinforcement layer performs better in fatigue-resistance and pressure-holding.
③ Inner rubber layer
The inner layer is designed to seal the air inside the fender.
