Jerryborg mooring buoys are the most consistent performing, highest quality available today, they are especially designed to provide outstanding performance in the toughest environments, and due to their low maintenance and high pull-through strength, Jerryborg Marine Systems Mooring Buoys are rapidly replacing traditional steel mooring buoys. The buoy is constructed from closed cell rigid urethane floatation foam encapsulated with a protective layer of polyurethane elastomer around a custom designed steel column. The resilient material makes the buoys self fendering with a high impact absorption capacity.

CHAIN THROUGH BUOYS
All FLOATEX cylindrical, supporting and mooring buoys have been designed to withstand the severe operating conditions associated with offshore operations. To achieve these characteristics the inner buoyancy core is realized applying spiral bending sheets of expanded cross-linked polyethylene. The full closed-cell expanded Polyethylene used, guarantees the unsinkability of the buoy, also in case of accidental serious damages occurred during operations. The outer Polyurethane skin provides the necessary abrasion and ultra-violet rays resistance to the buoy. Standard outer colour is marine orange but,if requested, buoys can be manufactured in different colours.

Material
100% closed cell macromolecule elastic foam
They mainly are 100% closed cell EVA foam, according to targeted use. EVA foams are resilient, closed cells to avoid water absorption and are producted either by rolls or blocks. Those elements are glued or thermobounded to constitute monolithic cocon or core, then tooled to requested shape before being encapsulated by tough reinforced SPUA coating matrix as here under.
Technical reinforcement cord fabric
They are applied according to building rules of soft composites reinforcement to strengthen the “matrix” and constitute the encapsulating coating for Jerryborg’s fenders, buoys and floats, etc. The main reinforcement fabric in Jerryborg is 1480dtex/3 chinlon tyre cord, which is widely used in pneumatic fender and tire products.
